Retired Staff Sergeant Major William H. Preston, born August 14, 1927, Swift Current, Saskatchewan, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at Suncrest Retirement Community, Surrey, B.C.

Mr. Preston was predeceased by his son, W. Scott Preston on December 9, 2023. After 70 years of marriage, he leaves his wife, Dorothy, who was his much beloved source of strength, understanding, generosity and love.

Bill was a wonderful teller of stories, and he will be greatly missed by his surviving children, Janet, Karen (Martin), Donna, Cathie (Bruce), Colin (Kelly) and Heather (Nev), his fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, and his very dear friends, George Loeppky and Lyman Henschel.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Suncrest Retirement Community, and especially Jerick, for their care and compassion during Mr. Preston’s residency. Mr. Preston’s ashes will be interred at the RCMP Cemetery in Regina in a private memorial service to be held at a later date.
