With a heavy heart, we announce Steven's passing (also known as Stevie or Steve) on February 19, 2025, at Royal Columbian Hospital. Steven resided in Port Coquitlam, BC.
Steven was born in Chatham, Ontario, to the parents of Gordon and Joyce (Gawne) Somerville. Steven is loved and will be missed by his surviving siblings, Gordon Somerville of Alberta (Doreen), Pamela Somerville of Mission, Jodi Jones of Port Moody, and Cary Templeman of Chatham (Mary). His mother, Joyce Gawne, and brother, Dale Somerville, predeceased him. Steven was someone with an undeniable spirit, whose actions and words showed transparency, integrity, and honesty.
Steven was a person of great courage and determination and faced life with unmatched chutzpah. Whether overcoming challenges or achieving remarkable feats, Steven always showed us the true meaning of perseverance and strength.
Steven will always be remembered as the fun uncle to his nieces, bringing joy and laughter into their lives with his playful spirit and boundless energy. His family knew they could count on him for help whenever needed.
Steven held an unwavering dedication to his work projects. His meticulous approach, reliability, innovative thinking, and relentless drive for excellence set him apart. He thrived in roles where others often struggled and completed each task with pride and dedication. Steven’s bosses deeply valued these unique attributes and his noteworthy craftsmanship.
Steven’s last wish is for a small family gathering to spread his ashes on the top of Grouse Mountain, where he has fond memories as a young boy sliding down the snowy hills with his siblings and where his mom and brother’s ashes are laid.
Rest in peace, dear Steven. You will forever remain in our hearts.

I love you so much Steve!! It’s been a couple months since your passing now and I think of you every day. There was a lot we did together and it makes me smile (and sometimes laugh) when I go to these places and talk to you ❤️
I know you are super happy right now and pain-free. Which makes me happy.
I will always be grateful for you and love you forever!
You are a great man! … and those who were blessed to see this, knows this.
All my love! Your little Sis. Jo
