It is with extreme shock and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Shawn David Storey, who died suddenly from an aneurysm on Monday May 8, 2023, at the very young age of 54.

He was born July 14, 1968 in Ontario but at the age of 18 he moved out west to be with his beloved Uncle Brian and make BC his home. They grew up together in Ontario and continued to be best friends for life in BC.

Shawn also loved to play two sports, hockey which he played his whole life, and pool. He played in a pool league in Langley where he made many friends, and probably a few friendly enemies with his fierce competitive spirit. He was also a die hard Montreal Canadiens’ fan his whole life, as anyone could easily tell from his extensive Habs wardrobe.

Shawn diligently and professionally worked in the trucking industry as operations manager and dispatcher for over 34 years, loving his job and the staff at Triangle Transportation, who are all shocked and devastated by his loss. His will be very large shoes to fill.

Shawn had another very special figure in his life, his beautiful African Grey Parrot named Rocket, whom he cherished like a son. Much of Shawn’s time was happily filled with his dear friend and soulmate of 17 years, Najat, who will miss him dearly. Shawn is predeceased by his father, Henry (Junior) MacAulay, stepfather, George Chico Storey, grandparents Marc and Eileen Courteau, and uncle Wayne Courteau (Linda). He is survived by his mother Cathy Storey, his sister CJ (Bobby) and their children, Ireland, Emerson, Elijah and Ivy, and his daughter Kandis (Ryan) and grandchildren Emma, Mason and Daxton. Shawn leaves behind his aunts and uncles, Cindi (Danny) Ingham, Paul (Rhonda) Courteau, and Brian (Lynn) Courteau, and many cousins.

Shawn was an amazing father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and his loss will be felt by many; his family and friends are devastated to lose him.

RIP Shawn.

Be at peace Shawn. I worked for his uncle Brian, and Shawn and I had many disgusting/hilarious hand held radio conversations while driving. He met my wife and girls and loved the chocolate chip pancakes they would make for him when we met on Sunday mornings swapping deliveries.
