Our son, Shawn Daniel Lamouroux, was called to God’s Kingdom as he peacefully slept on 9 October 2022 at the young age of 38.  He leaves behind his parents, Edward Daniel Lamouroux (Mary) and Tracey Anne Bonneteau (Rick).

Shawn loved and lived life to the fullest, whether that be gathering with close friends or loved ones or living on the edge in his bold endeavors riding motorcycles, bungee jumping or skydiving for example. Exuding an infectious laugh, he was equally happy just chilling and watching a movie or chatting on the phone regularly with family.  Shawn was the happiest he had been in his life in this past year.  A regular church service attendee, he loved and praised His God daily.  We know he is now experiencing eternal happiness with his creator and his best friend Saint, at his side.

He is survived by his parents; stepparents; daughter Danica; sister Melissa Gilbert (Charles) and their three children Jordyn, Elizabeth and James; brother Colin Cameron; sister Erica Lamouroux; sister Alexa Lamouroux; numerous stepsiblings; grandparents Mary Colleen Prendergast-McMahon (Leslie); many aunts and uncles; great-aunts and uncles; cousins; and friends and co-workers.

Shawn is predeceased by grandparents Kenneth Allan Henderson; Patricia and George Christensen; uncles Michael and Norman Lamouroux; and Great-grandparents Stella and Michael McMahon and Norman and Grace Hastie.

Of note, Shawn was blessed to have had two additional stepparents in his life, Leslie McElree; and Dennis Cameron.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Shawn, on 3 November 2022 at 4:00 pm at the following location:

The Neighbourhood Church (formerly Southside Community Church)

12642 – 100 Avenue

Surrey, BC V3V 2X7

The family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Shawn’s name to any addictions facility to aid in assisting those suffering from this disease.

Well I was hoping this was all a dream but now it’s a nightmare .. Shawn you were such an amazing man and friend . I am at such a loss for words there is so much I want to say just don’t know how too . I was with you through a lot of stuff that had happened here in Vernon but you always kept you head held high …. At least you can walk with saint again…….. I wish I could have been there for you before everything that happened but I had my own demons to deal with ..

Love you and miss you my brother forever and always my brother ……. Will see you on the other side my friend and brother..

Shawn was my first brother in the road to recovery. He spoke often of his family and he had a kind heart. My sincere condolences to those he left behind and may he find peace in his next chapter. We are all books of many chapters.
Until we meet again my friend.
