Randi Alice Sands

This is my third and final tribute for Randi. How does one adequately capture the essence of someone who lived such an extraordinary life from her roaring twenties to loving wife and doting mother? I'm not sure, but certainly not in a few short sentences.
Randi grew up loving to visit, along with her mom and sisters, Birch Bay, Washington and ended up living there for years. And while she eventually moved away decades ago, the place always remained near and dear to her heart. So if you read this tribute and then happen to visit Birch Bay sometime in the future, please take a moment to write Randi's name in the sand. That simple act of remembrance will help keep her spirit alive in a place she loved and once called home.

One of my enduring life memories is of the time I met and spent with Randi at SFU back in the early 1970’s. She was beautiful, clever, funny, and a delight to be around. The world is dimmer without you in it Randi.

I'd be remiss if I didn't add that one of the places Randi most loved to visit and actually considered "home" for years was Birch Bay, Washington.

I was lucky enough to have known Randi for almost 54 years. As a photographer and artist, she had the uncanny ability to convert ordinary kitchen items into amazing works of art. Also, her nearly lifelong love of travel is clearly a testament to her Norwegian heritage.
