Peter Ashleigh Macgregor passed away at 81 years old on April 4, 2023, at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Peter passed away with his loved ones by his side. His final moments were filled with love and comfort and well wishes on his next journey. He showed an undeniable amount of strength and will forever be remembered as a fighter.

Peter was born on July 17, 1941, to Allyne and Alexander in Montreal, Quebec. Peter was the oldest of two siblings. In his early years, Peter was a devoted swimmer. He was on the swim team, and actively in swim competitions. Peter won many awards for swimming, even being featured in the newspaper for his swimming talents. He was top of the province in Quebec for the French Provincial exams. Peter enjoyed coaching and refereeing kids’ hockey and football.

Later in life, Peter married his first wife Sharon Allen. They shared two children. Peter is survived by his daughters Zoë and Kimberlee. His grandchildren: Ashleigh, Rhys, Kyla, and Kaitlynne. His great grandchildren: Mylee, Jayden, Avery, Brooke, Pepper, Kennedy, Olive, and Kessa.

Peter will be greatly missed by his family and friends and remembered by the many lives he touched. He will always be our Papa, G Pop and Papa Pete. Peter’s face would light up when he was in the presence of his good friends and family. He found great happiness in spending time with his loved ones at his favorite restaurants. He had so much love to give. Peter had the biggest heart, and the best smile with those piercing blue eyes. He was always so generous. He was fearless, strong willed and stubborn.

Music was his passion. Elvis was his idol, and you could find memorabilia all over his home. Karaoke was his one hobby that truly made him happy. He made so many close friendships over the years, and music is what brought them all together. Peter had an inspiring way of making great friendships that will forever be cherished.

Peter loved everything to do with sports. His favorite being hockey and watching the Boston Bruins. You could always look forward to a good heated argument when teasing him about his favorite teams, or him having a few choice words about the Vancouver Canucks. He also loved wrestling, spending his time watching it on TV and hanging out with wrestlers in his younger years.

Peter also loved to travel when he had the time and means. His favorite vacation spot was Jamaica. He really enjoyed his time there.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life for Peter on May 13 at 5pm. Please reach out to Kyla at 604-537-1614 or Ashleigh at 778-989-5036 for details and location.

“And now the end is near. So I face the final curtain. My friend, I'll say it clear. I'll state my case of which I'm certain. I've lived a life that's full. I've traveled each and every highway. Oh, and more much more than this. I did it my way” -Elvis Presley

Condolences to all of you from John & me. 💜

Pete was such a character. Although it’s been many years, I still chuckle when I recall him pretending to get “fresh” whenever Krista or I (and others I’m sure) would come for a visit. He loved to make the ladies blush.

Behind the kidding, you could see how much he loved his girls Zoe & Kim. So protective was he. He loved to tease my brother Steve who was an avid Montreal Canadians fan.

Sending love & hugs to all of you. 💜

Dad I have so many great memories of you.
When I was struggling you always had the ability to calm me down. You would always reassure me that everything would be ok. I will miss the breakfasts that we shared at your favorite restaurant "The prarie cafe". I miss your daily phone calls just to check in. I am blessed to have had you for the 81 years of your life but the pain of losing you hurts my heart so much.
Everytime I watch a hockey game I will think of you. Everytime I see a football game I will think of you. Everytime I go to your favorite restaurants I will smile and think of you. I am sad but I celebrate you. Love you always Dad.

Papa Pete ❤️

It's been some time since I saw Pete but I have great memories of him.

Mostly as a kid I remember my visits with Zoe and the family. Pete always went out of his way to joke around and make me laugh.

I remember going on a trip to Salt Spring with Zoe, Pete and Ashleigh when Ash was just a baby.

I can still picture Pete holding Ash and resting her on his belly in the back of the car.

My thoughts are with all the family.

Love you all❤️
