It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Stevens, beloved father/grandfather/brother/uncle/friend, who left us peacefully on August 7, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born on April 16, 1952 in Chilliwack, BC, Michael lived most of his life in Vancouver, BC. Michael worked as a dedicated postal worker with Canada Post for 36 years, retiring in 2008.
He is survived by his children Katlyn (Shaun), Karlyn (Adam), his 4 Grandchildren Zachary, Aubree, Jillian, and Liam, his sister Nancy (Bruce) and his niece and nephew Sean and Lindsey, and many other family members. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life to honour Michael will be held on September 14th, 2025 at 12pm as an open house at #60- 18181 68 Ave, Surrey, BC (clubhouse). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of him.
We will always remember his smile, his caring heart, and the sense of humour that would make everyone laugh. Our father’s love is forever imprinted on our hearts.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Michael may have been my bio-father, but he was your dad and you were lucky to have had him in your life.

Daddy,
Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you. I say good morning and goodnight to you, every single day. I love and miss you more than words can ever say. You are my world, and you always will be. At bedtime, the girls are saying “Angel sleep on your pillow” every night.
Angel sleep on your pillow, Daddy

Dear Karlee, I never enjoyed the privilege of meeting your dad but I know you. And I know how much you’ve always loved him and will continue to love your memories of him. You have always spoken of your dad in such a gentle and loving way. That tells me a lot about what kind of a great dad he was.
May he rest in peace. Sharon & Al

### **In Loving Memory of Mike Stevens**
I first met Mike in the late 70s at the Burnaby annex. My first impression was of a guy with red hair, and I remember thinking, "Who is this weirdo?" Our paths didn't cross again until the mid-80s, when we found ourselves working the graveyard shift together. This time, we hit it off immediately.
Along with a small group from work, we formed a bond that would last the rest of our lives. That night shift crew became more than just coworkers; we became a family. Our friendship extended far beyond the workplace. We played hockey, went golfing, camping, fishing, and off-road driving. We even joined a bowling league with our families, sharing laughs and creating stories that we’d tell for decades.
Mike was the first of our core group to retire in early 2008, with me following later that year and our buddy Al soon after. Not ones to let retirement slow us down, we started a weekly coffee group, and it wasn't long before we added a regular lunch at our local pubs to the routine.
Mike was the heart of our gatherings. He had a gift for turning his many misadventures into the most comical stories, always keeping us in stitches with his hilarious outcomes. More than that, he was a fiercely loyal friend—the kind of person you could always count on, no matter what. He often bragged about his daughters, and it was so clear to all of us that he was incredibly proud of them and loved them deeply.
In the last few years, Mike's health began to fail, and he was only able to join us for lunch a few times a year. Even then, he never complained or whined. He continued to be the same Mike, making us smile with his stories and his strength. The last time we saw him, he was on oxygen, and his daughter had brought him out to be with us. It meant the world that he was there for one more lunch, one more laugh.
A couple of months later, we lost him.
In closing, I have lost a truly good friend. The night sky now has a new, bright star shining in it, and that’s Mike. I hope that whenever we see it, we can’t help but smile with our memories of him.
Goodbye, my friend. Keep that campfire burning and the coffee pot hot until we all meet again.
Your friend till the end,
Jamie Smith
