It is with profound sadness that the family of Christine (Chris) Anderson announces the death of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother, on April 25th, 2024, at Peace Arch Hospital, after succumbing to the effects of the rare, debilitating, neurological disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), having been diagnosed 4 years ago.

Chris was born on May 8,1937 in Toronto, Ontario and was raised in Belleville, Ontario.  Following high school, she attended business college in Toronto and later joined the staff of the Royal Bank (RBC), in Mississauga, Ontario, where she met the love of her life, and future husband, Leigh. Chris and Leigh were married on April 18th,1959, and were able to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary together, with their family, one week before she was hospitalized. Prior to moving to the West Coast in 1981, the couple lived in several communities in Southern Ontario during which time they welcomed their three children, Pattrick (Pat), Jamie and Tracey. Chris was a devoted mother and the heart of her family, all of whom meant the world to her. Upon arrival in British Columbia, the family settled in South Surrey where Chris became active in the White Rock and South Surrey Newcomers’ Group through which friendships developed, along with the formation of her beloved Bridge Club. She also provided support and kindness while volunteering on the Crisis Line. As her children matured, Chris decided to become a realtor and upon completion of all qualifications, joined Block Brothers Realty (NRS), in White Rock, a career which she thoroughly enjoyed and in which she achieved considerable success.  She later became involved in quilting by joining the “Piece Arch Quilters Guild”.  As grandchildren came along, Chris became completely devoted to them and clearly enjoyed the role of grandmother. Throughout her life, Chris unselfishly gave of herself to her family, always supportive of the many activities in which they were engaged. She was cherished by her husband and her family and will always be fondly remembered and deeply missed by them.

Chris is survived by her husband Leigh, their children Tracey (Carl), Jamie (Linda) and Pattrick as well as grandchildren, Christian, Tanner, Taylor, Alisa, Ryleigh, Carter and Aiden.

The family wish to express their appreciation to Dr. Wendy Chin for her care and concern for Christine, especially during the pandemic which was declared shortly after Chris was diagnosed with PSP.

Cremation has taken place and plans are being made for burial and a celebration of life, all of which will occur later.
