Marie was someone who radiated warmth, generosity and was always in for a bit of fun. The home that she and her husband Sid created was a reflection of that. A home where all were welcomed and the occasional water fight might occur in and out of the house with Marie and Sid sometimes the main instigators. The house parties were memorable with kids, teenagers and parents all up dancing. Marie went back to school and completed her medical office assistant course. It could not have been easy with a vibrant household that were not too understanding that she needed to study but she persevered and soon became the office manager to two doctors offices. She loved it. Being a people person Marie was always ready to volunteer - C.G.I.T, scrutineering in elections, Hopkins Landing hospital auxiliary, making school lunches in which she would upgrade the quality of the food so the little ones had something tasty and nutritious. The most important thing in Marie's life was her family and friends.

Marie is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren Karen  [Fritz ] Rekla, Chris [Sophie] Duxbury, Shelley [Kevin]Robinson. Cynthia Duxbury. Grandchildren: Kristoff [Naomi], Madison, Chelsea [Andre ],Danielle, Brianna and a chosen grandson Anthony. Great grandchildren, Rowen and Bailey.
Special thanks to the kind and compassionate staff at Evergreen Heights. The palliative care she received from Melville Hospice was delivered with dignity and empathy and was very much appreciated. Mom was an original and we shall very much miss her.
