Our lovely mom passed away peacefully in hospice, on June 16, 2026.
We will miss her kind, generous nature, and her passion for enjoying a good movie and a glass of wine.
Lynne was born in Victoria to Lionel & Doris Berry, the second of four girls. She graduated high school in Chilliwack in 1963, where she met Ken, and completed a bachelor’s degree at UBC. Married in 1966, many moves and 3 kids later, she and Ken bought their first home in Cloverdale. Lynne then started working for the Canada Revenue Agency in 1981 during tax season, and stayed until retirement. She met many friends there; some she still kept lunch dates with after retirement. Lynne is also a breast cancer survivor, discovered in 1995, and beat it even though the prognosis was not good. Lynne kept active after retirement with aqua fit classes, coffee dates with swim friends and former CRA workmates, and long walks around Cloverdale. Sadly, Ken passed away just after retiring, but they did travel together on some amazing trips in the years prior.
Lynne loved camping with the family, trips to the library to discover a new book, discussing movies, gardening, and lunches with her sisters. She loved the beach and would bribe us kids with money if we joined her in the water, no matter how cold! She loved spending time with her family and friends, but could also easily start conversations with total strangers. Her warmth and positivity were felt by everyone who knew her.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Ken. Lynne will lovingly be remembered by her daughters Kim (Achim) and Erin, son Trevor (Mamio), and four grandchildren, Aidan, Ciar, Ben and Vivian. She will also be remembered by her sisters Maureen, Pat (Niels), and Dawn (George), brothers-in-law Barry (Noreen) and Mark. Also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Surrey Hospice Society, or charity of your choice, in Lynne’s name.

Mom - thank you, along with dad, for setting the best example for us kids growing up. You were firm but fair, and taught us to be empathetic, thoughtful, confident and productive people. You showed us that our closest relationships were important and should be invested in, faults and all. The many people who reached out after you passed is a testament to that.
Your love of movies and music was infectious - many conversations started with "what good movies have you seen lately"? You surrounded yourself with a community of friends and family, and after dad passed they were your support and lifeline. You kept active, walking and swimming, right up until health issues made that impossible, which was another example for us.
I am grateful you gave us a happy childhood, as I know not everyone has that. I am grateful you were my mom, and I'll miss you.
