Louise (Weezy)Ferron (Macleod) was born in Halifax Nova Scotia on July 7th, 1940 and passed away suddenly, yet peacefully in her sleep on September 3rd, 2021, with the same dignity that she lived.
Louise left Halifax in the late 60’s and  settled in Edmonton, Alberta for one  year, then a short stint back to Halifax, then off to Vancouver Island for a short period, before finally settling in Vancouver in 1978.
Louise worked for 30 plus years at Sears Canada where she worked in various departments, but she is best known for her time in the shoe department at Metro Town.
She retired from Sears in 2016 where she left behind many wonderful friends and colleagues, many who stayed in contact with her until the end.
Louise was very well respected and loved by all that knew her.
She was tenacious, caring and open to people from all walks of life.  She became the instant Mom to so many.
She had an amazing sense of humour that she kept sharp even over the past few years as she dealt with Alzheimer’s.
Louise was from a family of 9 children and is  predeceased by bothers, Cecil, Garfield. Sisters Helen and Sheila.  Survived by siblings Christina, Brian, David, Gerald and wife Grace Macleod.
She is also survived by her 8 children, Chris Butler and husband Ken, Mary Riggs and husband Danny Rogers, Rick Riggs and wife Loretta, Rudy Riggs, Lloyd Riggs and wife Margarita Alonso  Gerry Riggs, Joanne Ferron-Yee and husband Tony Yee and Gabriel Ferron and partner David de Lusignan.
Louise is also survived by 9 loving grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She also leaves behind many wonderful friends and extended family that loved her until the end.
The family wishes to thank the care givers at Carlton Gardens for their care of Mom over the past few years and close friend Anne Marie Bender for her special care she gave to Louise over many years.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Louise’s name to the Alzheimer’s society of British Columbia.

Oh do I miss the summers when Louise would come home to Halifax. Louise, my wife Grace, Mary Riggs and myself had many many wonderful trips all over the province and even Prince Edward Island. But every year, I had to take her to Mahone Bay and Windsor to visit her two favorite shoe stores. I miss her every day of the week. RIP my dear sister.
