It is with sadness we announce the passing of Lorraine Jinkerson on February 2, 2026, just a few days before her 97th birthday.
Lorraine was predeceased by husband Roy in 2000, son Dave in 2009, and daughter Dianne in 2022; as well as her sister Lil (G.Roy) in 2004, and brother Bob (Joan) in 2013. Lorraine is survived by her daughter Laurie (Gord), six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, as well at many nieces and nephew and their families.
Lorraine was born and grew up in White Rock, B.C. After graduating from High School, Lorraine began work at B.C. Tel as a Telephone Operator. She married Roy in 1950. They settled in Burnaby where they raised three children, Dave (Moe), Dianne (Barry), and Laurie (Gord).
After her last child reached school age in 1964, Lorraine returned to the work part-time as a Switchboard Operator at Woodward’s Store in New Westminster. She worked there 25 years. After retirement, Lorraine volunteered her time helping others through The Senior’s Bureau in New Westminster. She helped out by delivering Meals on Wheels and Grocery Shopping for Senior’s for over 15 years.
Lorraine loved to garden and freely shared her knowledge and plants with all who were interested. She also had an amazing memory for facts and enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles. She loved dogs and always had a constant companion by her side throughout her adult live.
Lorraine was a caring and thoughtful person, who always had a kind word for those she knew and met. She was a generous soul and wanted to help others.
She will be greatly missed. Mom, you are forever in our hearts. We love you.

Dear Laurie,
I’m sorry to read about your Mom’s recent passing. What a long life she had. I’m also reminded that you just had your first Mother’s Day without her! My Mom died in 2019 & I miss her still.
What a lovely obituary. I enjoyed remembering your family & those years we grew up across Karrman Ave. from each other. Both our Moms grew up in White Rock & dads worked for B.C. Tel. I loved being reminded your Mom worked @ Woodwards & maiden name was McNally. She was always warm & welcoming to me as a girl. I wasn’t at all surprised she continued to help others after she retired. She was a wonderful gardener- I saw my first clematis @ your house as a girl & was delighted to see how her front yard continued to look so cared for whenever I would drive by to look at our old house.
I’m sorry to learn that you’ve also lost Dave & Dianne. I did remember my mom saying your dad had died years ago.
Laurie, I’m praying for you & your families’ peace & comfort as you grieve. I hope this message from an old neighbour & classmate might bring you a smile. Sincerely, Susan
