Fisher, Irene, born January 1, 1930, passed away on September 2, 2022, at 92 years of age.

Irene lost her battle with cancer and died peacefully under the care of the wonderful nurses at Maple Ridge Hospital.

Irene was born to Leigh and May Weatherby in Kamloops, BC. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Stan Fisher, her sister Marge Turner and brother Jim Weatherby. She is survived and missed by her brother Lyle Weatherby and sister Ann Crowder. Between the five brothers and sisters, there are numerous children and grandchildren.

Irene was born in Kamloops and worked for BC Tel as an operator. For those who knew her, she was an active go-getter and never seemed to be at home. She did not want to miss out on anything.

She shall be missed by the members of the local legion, where she was a long-time member. She loved to play crib there and thoroughly enjoyed the company of her legion friends and friends at the Haney Pioneer Village where she lived. 

Her favourite past times were monthly local pub lunches and taking the bus “across the line” for a weekend at the casinos and local pub lunches.
