William Gordon Garry was born on March 3, 1935 in Vancouver as the youngest son of Richard (Dick) and Margaret (Nan) Owen. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margot and their two daughters, Angela and Michelle and son-in-laws Paul and David. Garry was incredibly proud of his grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Adrienne, and Joshua, not only for their university education but also for the remarkable individuals they have become.

Garry's early years were spent in Vancouver and Langley, where he had fond memories of growing up on the family farm. He worked as a professional truck driver with Wilkinson Steel for 34 years and received numerous awards during his tenure there until he retired at age 65. His commitment extended beyond his driving career, as he was actively involved in union work with the United Steelworkers and was President of the local chapter. Even in retirement, his exceptional work ethic continued, as he worked as a Marshall at numerous Golf courses and later at Choices Market for a decade, where he enjoyed the social aspect of the job before retiring again at 86 years old.

After raising their family in Richmond, BC, Garry and Margot moved to White Rock in 2021, where they enjoyed the stunning ocean views from their balcony. Garry loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays, playing golf, and looked forward to their many family dinners. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly as a devoted and kind husband, amazing dad, and a fun-loving grandfather.
