Eric Jessop, a devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on March 11, 2026, after a lengthy illness. Born on November 27, 1951 in Trenton, Ontario, his life was marked by a steadfast commitment to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Karen, sons Kyle and Adam, daughter Shauna, and grandchildren Avery, Charlie and Mark, with whom he spent many happy days following his retirement.
Having grown up in Richmond, BC, Eric found work with CP Air, and in 1977 he found his lifelong partner Karen who also worked for the airline. Their union was a testament to love and partnership, and together they built a strong family life which included many events that embraced their extended family: brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends.
Eric’s 42-year career in the airline industry began in 1973 with CP Air, then Canadian Airlines and finally Air Canada. Eric and Karen enjoyed travelling and were able to enjoy visiting Australia, Europe, Hawaii, Dubai and many other destinations.
Eric had a passion for golf that began at the age of 12 and remained a constant source of joy throughout his life. This love for the game was something he shared with his sons, Kyle and Adam, and together they created countless memories.
As we say goodbye to Eric, we remember him as a man who valued God and family and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. His life was a testament to love, dedication, and the power of family. His memory will continue in our hearts and he will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even though he dies” (John 11:25)
