Dale Eberle Somerville of Burnaby, B.C.
Dale passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Burnaby General Hospital (B.C.), at the age of 59, from Cancer. Born in Chatham, Ontario, to the parents of Gordon and Joyce (Gawne) Somerville. Dale will be truly missed and is dearly loved by his surviving siblings, Gordon Somerville of Alberta (Doreen), Pamela Somerville of Mission (Tony), Steven Somerville of Port Coquitlam, Jodi Jones of Port Moody, and Cary Templeman of Chatham (Mary). He was predeceased by his mother, Joyce Gawne.
Dale will forever be remembered for his quick wit, love for cooking and his unwavering support and commitment to his family and friends. Dale was a donor of his eyes; two individuals received the gift of sight a day after his passing.
Dale was a true Aries; an entrepreneur with passion and vision, a leader, and lived life with the love in keeping it simple and to the point.
Dale’s last wishes is that he offers his ashes to be turned into a memorial diamond… an everlasting memory -unique and precious, have some ashes spread with his mom’s ashes at Grouse Mountain (B.C.) and at a lake he spent many of his summer days enjoying.
An intimate family gathering was had to carry out his last wishes, with a scheduled celebration of life gathering with close friends and family, to share stories, love, and laughter that are held dear to our hearts in memory of Dale.
“It’s not live one day at a time… it’s live one moment at a time. You never know which moment will be your last” (Dale’s last thought).

I love you so much bro! I look forward to having you continue joining me on our walks. I'm not going to say, "bye", because that would imply you are gone. You are more with me now then ever - although when I say it, it makes me cry, but I know you are. I hope you will keep giving me recipe tips for upcoming holiday meals ;P ... and if your presence can be there for those dinners, it will be much appreciated <3 I love you so much!!! I know you are in an awesome place with no pain and that makes me happy. You were having your best life at the time of your passing, so I know you are happy too. Don't go too far. Thanks Dale for all you did for me. Forever grateful! Your little sis <3 <3 <3

Dale was an amazing man. I loved how he could own a room with his gentle nature. Loved his intellectual conversations and his kind nature. Our great loss is heaven's gain. RIP Dale. 🙏 ❤
