Angela Evelyn Ferguson(nee Oschefski) died peacefully, in the wee hours of February 1st, 2026, in White Rock, BC, with family at her bedside.

The eldest of 6, she was born in 1942 to Nick and Lorraine(Snache-Douglas) Oschefski in Orillia, Ontario, and grew up between Ontario and BC. As a teen in Chilliwack, BC, she met Air- Cadet, Bob Ferguson Jr. and their paths crossed a few years later, by chance in Vancouver where she worked as a bankteller. They married in 1963, had four children,Jason(Dana), Jared (Joanna), Justin, Jocelyn(John), settling in the early 1970s to South Surrey where Bob built up his Architectural Design business. Angie cooked, cleaned, drove the kids to hockey practices, ballet and music lessons and managed to make it all look fun and easy. She encouraged creativity, curiosity, and wonder. An exceptionally beautiful woman, Angie did some modelling as a young woman and always took good care of herself, taking up jogging in the ‘70s and remained active throughout her life, enjoying her early morning long walks in the Crescent Park neighbourhood, with a beloved dog and transistor radio for company.

Angie had a keen eye for art and design and turned her and Bob’s hobby of “Garage Sale-ing” into her business, Angie’s Antiques & Collectibles. She specialized in finding fun and funky treasures and was a master at setting up the most stylish displays for admiring customers and other dealers, first from the converted home garage then to a storefront and at trade shows and flea markets.
In her fifties, Angie went to college, graduating with a Diploma in Culinary Arts alongside her son, Jared, at Vancouver Community College. She became an integral part in the success of Jared’s venture “Hungry Heart Cafe” in White Rock, baking, washing dishes and aprons, looking after the books, boosting staff morale, and a million other little things.

Bob never missed an opportunity to proclaim Angie’s glamorous good looks, but she was also very down-to-earth, silly and fun. This will be remembered especially fondly by her six beloved grandchildren, Tessa, Luke, Annie, James, Katie, Cole whom she adored absolutely. She loved animals, puttering in the garden, daily phone calls with her kids or her mom to share jokes, the latest news or politics, or discuss recipes to use up all the gorgeous tomatoes from Justin’s garden. She loved decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween-she even named one of her favourite dogs, “Pumpkin”.

Although she did not travel the world, she was always up for a little adventure- whether just to try a new cafe or to walk through the lobby of a fancy hotel to check out the floral arrangements. She travelled back to Orillia, Ontario late in life to attend a family reunion and learn more about her Indigenous heritage. She rarely sat still, even as dementia crept in, she never lost her curious and caring nature, and she used her bright eyes and busy hands to convey love and connection.

There are no plans at this time for a public memorial ceremony, but we encourage you to raise a glass in her honour- think of her with love and a cold beer after mowing the lawn, or when you bite into a particularly tasty sour green apple or a black licorice pipe, or when you feel the anticipation of a good awards show red carpet on tv, or you feel the comfort and satisfaction of getting into your jammies after a long day of work. She was a bright light and the world is a better place because she lived and shared so much joy.
