What to Know About Advance Funeral Planning

Advance funeral planning means different things to different people. In today’s blog article, we will go over the topic in general terms.
To your financial planner, advance funeral planning may mean setting aside some money if you want to have funds available for your funeral.
It could mean even carrying an insurance policy specifically to cover these and other funeral expenses.
For your lawyer, advance funeral planning may mean including a Memorandum of your Wishes which is attached to your will, and which outlines exactly what you want for your funeral. The Memorandum is legally binding on your Executor/Executrix.
For a funeral provider, advance funeral planning can mean prepaying your funeral. If your funeral plans include cremation, then the prepayment and prearrangement will include your choice of the cremation container for your body to be cremated in, the type of urn for your cremains and to decide where your cremains will be buried or to scatter on land or water.
If you want to preplan your funeral, then, by all means, discuss this with your lawyer, financial planner, accountant, and the funeral director at Only Cremations well in advance of needing the funeral. This takes the guesswork out of planning your funeral and relieves the stress carried by family members at the time of your passing.
