The Benefits of Direct Cremation

It is estimated that approximately 75 decisions need to be made within the first 48 hours of the death of a loved one. Trying to navigate those decision while at the height of your grief can feel like a near impossible task. A direct cremation is a service which reduces the number of immediate decisions so you can deal with the less important decisions when you are more emotionally prepared.

A direct cremation is a service in which there is no formal ceremony provided by the funeral home. Rather, the funeral home deals with cremation only, and leaves the planning of a funeral or memorial service for the family to plan on their own at a later time. Included with a direct cremation is only the transfer of the deceased into the care of the funeral home, registration of death, and cremation.  Everything else is handled by the family. This has two advantages: fewer decisions when you are least prepared to make them, and lower cost.

That does not mean the funeral home can’t provide other service, only that the other services are optional or can be considered later. For a complete list of our services, please click here.
